The 2006 Fireblade was a thorough update of the 2004 original rather than a new bike. Honda reworked the head porting, raised compression, fitted double intake valve springs for a higher rev ceiling, enlarged the front discs to 320 mm and trimmed weight, while sharper bodywork, revised steering geometry and a shorter swingarm tightened the chassis.
